Pemgarda (pemivibart) is an investigational medicine that is authorized for use for pre-exposure prophylaxis to help prevent COVID-19.

Pemgarda is a monoclonal antibody. Monoclonal antibodies are laboratory-produced molecules engineered to serve as substitute antibodies that can restore, enhance, or mimic the immune system’s attack on pathogens. Pemgarda is designed to block viral attachment and entry into human cells, thus neutralizing the virus.

Pengarda has only been approved for emergency use.

How it's Administered

Pemgarda is administered by intravenous infusion. Pemgarda infusion takes about a minimum of one hour.
