Vyvgart Hytrulo combines Vivgart (efgartigimod alfa-fcab) with hyaluronidase to treat generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG), a disease that leads to muscle weakness and tiredness and also chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP). The addition of hyaluronidase forms part of a drug delivery technology called Halozyme's ENHANZE that allows subcutaneous injection of larger volumes of medication.

The active ingredient in Vyvgart Hytrulo, efgartigimod, works by attaching to and blocking the action of a protein called neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) which is involved in regulating the levels of antibodies in the blood. By blocking FcRn, Vyvgart Hytrulo decreases the level of autoantibodies thereby improving the ability of muscles to contract and reducing the symptoms of the disease and their impact on daily activities.
