Injectafer (ferric carboxymaltose) is an iron replacement therapy that is used to treat iron deficiency anemia. Iron deficiency anemia occurs when the body lacks sufficient iron to produce an adequate number of red blood cells, leading to symptoms such as fatigue, weakness, and shortness of breath.

Injectafter provides a source of supplemental iron to support the production of red blood cells and replenish iron stores in individuals with iron deficiency. This helps increase hemoglobin levels, improving oxygen transport and replenishing iron stores in the body.

Injectafer should be used only if patients have not responded well to treatment with oral iron, or if they are intolerant to oral iron treatment. It is also used to treat iron deficiency anemia in adults with chronic kidney disease who are not receiving dialysis.
